Brief Description: A large thorny tree that reaches 12 to 20 meters in height, it is present in the southern Sahara, the Hoggar Mountains of Algeria, the Tassili des Ajjers of Libya, Southern Morocco and Western Sahara. Like other Acacias, this species is appreciated for its fodder, the wood is used in construction, the leaves and bark are used for a variety of medicinal uses and, it provides shade during unbearable temperatures. Also present in the Sahel, its flowers provide forage to bees at the close of the rainy season.
