Brief Description: Found in sandy soils in areas of elevation such as plateaus or the wadis of mountainous regions, this is a plant parasite. Standing 20 to 30 centimeters tall, it is often growing at the base of larger shrubs and trees, particularly those that are old and dying. Donkeys eat this plant. People living in the countryside of the Western Sahara collect the plant, dry it in the sun, pound it into a flour, and add milk in preparing a porridge. As a medicine it is used to prevent diarrhea.
