Brief Description: A plant that grows up to 60 centimeters in height and is found in salty soils in the northern and central Sahara. Camels seek it out as pasture because of its high salt content, much like Atriplex halimus [legtaf in Hassaniyya] but must also find other types of pasture. In the Algerian Sahara, the Tuareg eat the young sprouts of this plant.
