Brief Description: Found in the northern and western regions of the Sahara, generally in sandy wadi beds, this annual is becoming endemic. It grows to a height of 10 to 25 centimeters and is very appreciated as pasture for herbivores. Local Saharan communities collect the seeds of this plant, crush them and add them to fat, milk or oil to use in cooking.
