Sahraoui [Hassaniyya] Name: [ Guerzim]

Brief Description: A shrub that averages 1 to 2 meters in height, it is found in southern Tunisia and Algeria but it rare in the Western Sahara and Mauritania. The plant produces a comestible fruit called aghamis [ ]in Hassaniyya from March to June. Camels and goats eat the sprouts of this species and its roots work as an excellent stabilizer of sand dunes.
