Brief Description: A shrub that is present in sandy soils of the highlands and northern Sahara but it absent in the Western Sahara. The seeds of its fruits have a variety of medicinal purposes but need to be used sparingly as high concentrations act as a hallucinogenic. Although this species is absent in southwest Algeria the seeds of this plant are found sold in the markets in and around Tindouf, Algeria, home to many Sahraoui refugees.
