Brief Description: A shrub that is commonly found in northern Africa but thins out and becomes rare in the western and central Sahara. It can grow up to 8 meters in height and produces a slightly sweet fruit called nbiq [ ]in Hassaniyya and abaka [>] in Tuareg languages. The leaves are collected and boiled until the water turns black in order to produce a medication used against viper bites.
