Afghanistan Strategy: President Trump unveiled his plan to extend the war in Afghanistan without a timeline for withdrawing U.S. troops. (Read his complete address here.) The plan departs from Trump’s previous calls to withdraw from the war, but as James Fallows writes, it’s remarkably similar to the strategies offered by his predecessors.
