Moroccan Airlines to cancel flights due to pilots’ strike

Morocco Airlines cancelled, Monday, several scheduled flights for today due to a strike launched by the airline’s pilots six days ago.

According to they canceled governmental Royal Moroccan Airlines (RMA) data, published on its official website today.

The Moroccan airlines said two flights scheduled for today and two flights for tomorrow are threatened with a change in their destinations.

The company called for contact with the airport management to ensure the date of departure of the flights because of the confusion in today’s program.

Since Wednesday, aircraft commanders, who are members of the Moroccan Pilots Association (non-governmental), went on a partial strike because of the failure of Royal Moroccan Airlines (RMI) (governmental) to respond to their demands.

For months, the association has negotiated with Moroccan Airlines officials issues related to raising wages, providing an annual compensation, besides other social demands.

In an earlier statement, the association called on its members to “refuse to travel during weekends and official holidays and within a first escalation program, after failing to reach an agreement with the company.”

The Royal Moroccan Airlines warned the association against a strike, stressing that it would have a negative impact on the company.
