It’s never been easier to combine two or more photographs into a single image. Whether creating fantastical images or barely noticeable alterations, image editors like Photoshop have made the impossible possible. In fact, the prevalence of compositing – where we routinely see landscapes with replaced skies, portraits with modified backdrops and all manner of other digital trickery – has fundamentally altered the relationship between photography and truth.
