A MOVING EXPERIENCE

Maybe it’s a man thing, but I love my wheelbarrow. It could be the shiny silver body and frame, the soft grip handles, puncture-free tyre and brightly coloured wheel – the garden equivalent of a car that gets the same juices flowing (or maybe I’m just a bit sad!). Actually I probably love it just because it is so useful; it is never far away whenever I’m in the garden; it is my faithful gardening companion.

My barrow is a trug to carry tools and gloves or to collect prunings or fallen leaves as well of course as a handy cart for moving heavy objects. Mine started out with a pneumatic tyre, but thanks to a hawthorn hedge, the prunings from which are
