FANS FEARED THE worst when East Coast Wrestling Association abruptly canceled future shows and announced an indefinite hiatus earlier this year. Thankfully, the historic promotion effectively rebooted with its 52ndanniversary show in New Castle, Delaware, on September 21. Three of ECWA’s top stars—Joey Ace, Kekoa, and Ty Awesome—topped the card in an elimination triple-threat contest for the company’s top title, affectionately known by fans as “Big Red” for its crimson leather strap.

Former champion Awesome tapped out early in the bout, due in part to injuries sustained during and the masked man who took out Awesome earlier in the night, Ace delivered a beatdown to Kekoa in the middle of the ring.
