From one extreme TO THE NEXT

Seeing the anguish in my dad Adrian’s face and the tears pouring down his cheeks, I turned to look in the hallway mirror. I cast my eyes down over my tiny waist and the thigh gap I’d once only dreamt of and, for the first time, saw what everyone else saw. The clothes hanging off my tiny frame, bones protruding under my skin.

In fact, I was so malnourished, my hair had started falling out and I constantly felt sick and exhausted. I’d lost 16st and 11 dress sizes in just over a year, yet in that moment I realised all I’d gained was another eating disorder in the ongoing battle with my body.
