Breathe yourself better

'Ancient yogis believed that how you breathe determines how you live,’ says Cape Town-based yoga teacher Stevie Hiscock. So if your breathing is shallow, you’ll live a shallow life; if your breathing is deep, you’ll live a full, long life. ‘It’s called pranayama (prana meaning energy or breath and yama meaning control or restraint) – using a breathing practice to control your breath and the energy that comes along with that breath.’
