PROJECT HAPPINESS!

Happiness is the subject of a great deal of research and these days you can find a multitude of books, TED talks and podcasts by specialists in this field. And their findings? That our search for happiness is far greater than our search for money or health. And that it is achievable.

In her book Positive Psychology for Overcoming Depression, Miriam Akhtar, a positive psychologist from the UK, writes about the importance of the balance between pleasure, engagement (at work, with people and activities in general) and meaning.

She believes pleasure should be sought in regular positive emotions rather than in the big moments that occur now and then and which give us a short-term high. She says you should grow your own positivity by asking yourself often what is good in your life and what you can be thankful for. Focus on quantity rather than quality and
