Loads For A 6.5 Creedmoor
Q I purchased a Lithgow rifle in 6.5 Creedmoor. Can you suggest some loads for hunting fallow deer, pigs, goats and dogs? I have Hornady 143gn ELD projectiles, and Starline and Lapua new brass. Rifle has a Vortex PST Gen. II 5-25x50 scope on board.

A I haven't seen a Lithgow rifle in 6.5 Creedmoor, but I bet it has a heavy barrel and will be very accurate. You should have stuck with one brand of brass though. Are you aware that Lapua brass uses small rifle primers? Make sure the decapping pin in your sizing die will fit through the smaller flashhole. The Hornady 143gn ELD projectiles you have will handle large boars, fallow and even red stag, but you'll probably do better with a lighter bullet for dogs and goats. I have used the following loads: Hornady 95gn V-Max and 41gn of AR2208 for 3125fps; Berger 120gn and 43gn of AR2209 for 2867fps; Barnes 130gn TSX and 42gn AR2209 for 2812fps; and 143gn ELD and 41gn AR2209 for 2550fps. Your Vortex 5-25x50 should be great for long range target and game shooting.
