Turkey Seizes Illicit ‘Hittite’ Coins

Turkish police seized what they described as Bronze Age sculptures, coins, and precious stones in late March in the Urzurum province in eastern Turkey.

According to the March 22 Daily Sabah newspaper, “The artifacts, believed to belong to the ancient Hittite era, were handed to the museum directorate in Erzurum.”
