The work of decades
Safety was not always prominent in the trucking industry, however, after a horrific truck and bus crash near Grafton in 1989, it was decided that something must be done. A month later, a meeting between key individuals in the Australian trucking industry called for action, and thus the Australian Trucking Association (ATA) was born.
From humble beginnings in a wooden aircraft hangar, the ATA has grown to transform the Australian trucking industry.
