LIGHT AND BRIGHT OR COSY AND DARK?
Traditional varnished yacht interiors can be considered either cosy or gloomy, depending on your preferences. But it is undeniable that light and bright engenders a more spacious feeling. Although this can be overdone, as in some modern yacht interiors that feel sterile and unwelcoming, many older yachts would benefit from more light below. Replacing varnish with white paint or laminate can make a huge difference, especially on bulkheads.
