My Freeway

“I decided to take the plunge, mailing in an order for a new Freeway, along with the requisite $200 deposit.”

Remember the Freeway? It was a tiny commuter car developed by a company called High-Mileage Vehicles in response to the high price and scarce availability of gasoline in the late 1970s. Because of my fascination with weird little cars, I actually ordered a new Freeway in 1981.
