Monaghan’s Josh Moffett (Hyundai i20 R5) always seemed to be in control of his own destiny as he clinched back-to-back wins on the Abbeyleix Manor Hotel Rally, where heavy overnight rain led to tricky conditions.

Leading throughout, the reigning national rally champion finished 27.1 seconds in front of Desi Henry, also in a Hyundai i20 R5. Sheffield ace Ollie Mellors (Proton Iriz R5) was 14.9s further behind in third.

Moffett and Henry were the only drivers to get a full competitive run through the opening stage (with the former leading by 4.3s). The event was disrupted when Ian Barrett (Darrian T9) crashed heavily and the emergency services were deployed.
