In order to enhance the flow between indoors and outdoors, transforming the courtyard into an extension of the home was mandatory. This space is now one of the best features of the home, and provides respite when the wind is raging.
When Greg McFarlane first happened upon this neglected house in Misty Cliffs outside Cape Town, it was a warren of terraces, overgrown creepers and indigenous plants.
