On a bright Sunday afternoon in June 2008, 11-year-old Skyla Whitaker and her 13-year-old best friend Taylor Paschal-Placker were walking down a rural dirt track near Weleetka, Oklahoma.
They’d taken the route together many times before and that day, they were heading to a riverbank to collect pebbles and shells.
But they never arrived.
Their bullet ridden bodies were found by the side of the road.
The community was shocked to the core by the deaths of two young innocent girls.
