Even the imagery–ghosts, 70s New York, clowns and fools, strange beauty–feels like a happily haunted hurrah from the band who were too late for glam but too early for punk, while Foxx’s icy-fire vocals sound timeless and 10 feet tall. A dazzling resurgence from one of the best minds of his generation.
