There’s a certain sense of responsibility that comes with being the third generation to take on a cherished family garden. “I am very much aware of how much the family has put into the garden, so we do tend to involve my parents in major decisions, even though they are perfectly happy to let us get on with it,” says Helen Picton who, with her husband Ross Barbour, has taken over The Picton Garden from her parents, Paul and Meriel.
