In the midst of, well, everything, the government has released an app that is supposed to help us through these uncertain times. Rather than provide information like the app we covered last issue, Covid Safe is designed to advise the population when they’ve come into contact with someone who’s been infected. Being able to notify people as fast as possible so they can get tested or self isolate should save lives but that’s just a surface look. The issue here is personal privacy and data, which – after issues with My Health Record – many are right to have speculations about.
