CALLING FOR A STATUE IN TRIBUTE TO DAME VERA LYNN KATHERINE JENKINS SINGS THE PRAISES OF HER LATE FRIEND AS SHE UNVEILS HER DEEPLY PERSONAL NEW ALBUM

‘What’s actually happened in my life is way above what I could ever have hoped and dreamt of’

Singer Katherine Jenkins gave a spine-tingling performance when she joined Dame Vera Lynn in a virtual duet of We’ll Meet Again to commemorate VE Day 75 this spring.

Streamed to audiences all over the globe, with vintage images of Forces’ Sweetheart Vera beamed into the Royal Albert Hall to sing alongside Katherine, the song stormed to the top of the iTunes chart and raised vital funds for NHS charities.

Now the mezzo-soprano exclusively tellshow it is her wish to see Dame Vera, who died in June aged 103, honoured with a permanent memorial.
