Malcolm speaks for many of us when he says, “I’m pretty good with a spanner, but I can’t do this kind of stuff.”
If we were being pedantic, we could pick him up on casually referring to a nut and bolt restoration with more custom touches than his bank balance would care to mention as merely ‘stuff’, but we know what he means. This radically modified ’68 Beetle is a lot more than a basic restoration, though, it’s a fundamental re-engineering job. And the man responsible for that sort of ‘stuff’ in this instance is Darryn Coleman.
As D C Customs, based in Dudley in the West Midlands, Darryn has carved a living creating exactly this kind of thing and, as we get into the details, you’ll understand why.
