State capture: Nhleko ready to challenge McBride

Former police minister Nathi Nhleko (pictured) has applied to give his side of the story after he was implicated in wrongdoing by former Independent Police Investigative Directorate (Ipid) head Robert McBride at the state capture inquiry.

McBride testified before the Zondo Commission in April last year and Nhleko has decided to challenge his testimony.

Nhleko wrote in his affidavit that although he had failed to respond within 14 days of McBride’s testimony, he intended to bring an “application on the grounds of justice, prejudice and good cause having been shown”.

He was minister of police until 2017
