As a person who grew up in a violent home, I’m triggered every time I come across stories of women and children who suffer abuse at the hands of men. Although my grandfather didn’t raise his hand to me, probably because I was little, I remember crying after every attack my grandmother and my uncles – who were teenagers at the time – endured.
