Inspired by her own upbringing, The Duchess of Cambridge’s Back to Nature Garden design for the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2019 sought to recapture the magic we experience as children, playing in natural settings. At its heart was an eight-ton treehouse built around the trunk of an ancient oak tree, rescued by TouchWood Play, the Bristol-based playground supplier and ‘expert in all things play’. Combined with the oak were larch, stag oak and hazel (sourced from Westonbirt, The National Arboretum), along with cleverly hidden supports.
