SOMETIMES an event so dramatic occurs that time seems to stand still —a wildfire, a catastrophic flood, tanks rolling down the tree-lined avenue of a capital city. You may think me feeble, but the presidential debate in Ohio on October 1 felt like one of those cataclysmic events. You may say, ‘but nobody got hurt. Nobody died.’ But I’m not sure.
