Money wasted in two Mpumalanga municipalities

A contractor allegedly manhandled and threatened an official who refused to pay for a miniature substation that was not supplied in one Mpumalanga municipality, while, in another, a polygamous councillor employed his two wives.

This may read like fiction, but the findings of two forensic reports on the alleged shenanigans that have been going on in the Govan Mbeki (Secunda) and Dr JS Moroka (Siyabuswa) local municipalities show that huge amounts of taxpayers’ funds have been misused.
