    KEY POINTS

    ▶ Lurking under the bonnet of the 8280 TTV is a 6.1-litre Deutz engine with twin turbos for a maximum output of 287hp.

    ▶ The new stepless transmission reaches 40km/hr at just 1,220rpm. Top speeds of 50 and 60km/hr are an option.

    ▶ There is just the one 8-series model available right now.

    As on-farm horsepower has gone up, having a decent offering in the 200-300hp bracket has become essential for any serious tractor manufacturer. While it sells the 8,200kg, 181kW/246hp 7250 TTV and the 11,800kg, 217kW/295hp 9290 TTV models, there was a noticeable gap in the Deutz-Fahr product range, and this has now been plugged by the 8280 TTV with a max output of 211kW/287hp and weighing in at 9,500kg.

    For now, this is the only model in the new 8- series. The range
