In the last issue I started preparing the skid unit for painting, which will involve cleaning with a rotary wire brush and degreasing, followed by some red oxide primer. However, the weather has turned for the worst, so has put the brakes on any activity regarding paintwork in the open.
Greatest challenge
In the meantime there has been plenty to get my teeth into regarding the bonnet assembly. Despite being well-engineered tractors, the tinwork tends to suffer from rust badly, and with my tractor sitting around for about 20 years, eventually becoming covered in brambles, its bonnet and mudguards have suffered quite a bit.
