NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTIONS FOR TRAVELERS

I remember my last New Year’s Eve with crystal clarity. I was at a friend’s house. Everyone was outside drinking on the porch, huddled together in one unit. It was freezing cold, but none of us seemed to mind. We were all warmed up by the alcohol and good company. One of my friends pulled out his phone, on which a live feed was filming the hordes of people packed like sardines into Times Square. Together, we sang out the numbers until we reached “HAPPY NEW YEAR!” Hugs were given, “I love you, man” was cast around, and everyone felt optimistic about what was to come in the year 2020.
