BOTSWANA NAMES CYANOBACTERIA AS CULPRIT IN DIE-OFF

says the cause of death for hundreds of elephants in the Okavango Delta region was cyanobacteria, a microorganism that occurs naturally in slow-moving and stagnant water. Sadly, the country has lost over 300 elephants since March 2020.
