The day my HUSBAND DIED

Sunshine peeked through the curtains and I rolled over to give my husband a cuddle. ‘Three more sleeps!’ I whispered, excited about our upcoming holiday.

It was July 2016 and Dan, then 39, our sons, Ethan, then eight, and Alex, seven, and I were off to Lanzarote with friends. Our life was close to perfect. Dan and I had been together since we were 26, and he was strong, dependable, capable and fit: everything I could ask for. He had a great job as an HR manager and I worked in network marketing. Life was busy and Ethan and Alex were growing up fast, but we had so much to look forward to.
