Treating chicken lice

Crossbred or indigenous chickens farmed in a free-range system are hardy animals. The biggest threats they face are from lice outbreaks.

One of the main ways of introducing these ectoparasites to your clean flock is by bringing in new chickens from an unknown background. It’s important, therefore, to quarantine new chickens for a period while you look for signs of lice infestation.
