WHAT’S NEW?

THE DIRTY DOZEN

The charity Garden Organic is urging people across the UK to think more carefully about the fruit and vegetables they’re buying, and consider growing their own. This comes following an analysis of government data by Pesticide Action Network (PAN) UK, showing a hidden cocktail of pesticides in shop-bought produce.

In the analysis 89% of strawberries, 78% of grapes, 81% of pre-packed salads and 52% of apples were among the ‘dirty dozen’ fruit and veg that have been shown to contain multiple pesticide residues.
