About this audiobook
From the authors of the bestselling In the Company of Heroes come the thrilling, never-before-heard stories of the Army's elite aviation unit, the most daring and professional helicopter crews in the world.
In his first book, Michael Durant told his harrowing tale of being shot down in his Blackhawk over Mogadishu and held captive by a Somali warlord. It was a remarkable account, particularly because Special Operations pilots are notoriously reticent-they don't talk about their missions, at least not to anyone outside their small community. But now, with the publication of The Night Stalkers, Durant and Steven Hartov shed a fascinating light on these mysterious super commandos and take readers into a world they have only imagined.
From Iran to Grenada to Iraq, the 160th SOAR (A) has been at the point of the spear and in the thick of combat, delivering and supporting Delta operators, Rangers, and SEAL teams to any target, at any point on the globe, in all weather-night or day. Simply put, they are the best of the best, and here for the first time are their hair-raising true stories of battle, capture, victory, and loss.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The 160th doesnt get as much press as some other military organizations, which this book proves to be quite a shame. Riveting stories throughout, with the firsthand experience of Michael Durant, the pilot who survived captivity at the hands of Somalian Warlords during operation Gothic Serpent. Only complaint, which has absolutely nothing to do with the narrative, is the total miscasting of the narrator for this audiobook. You'll recognize him from such audiobooks as Steve Wozniak's autobiography. It just isn't a great fit, though he gets in the swing of it by the end.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Outstanding account of the men and missions of the 160th
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Fantastic book. Will be purchasing additional books by this author. Book is written in a manner that non-military personnel can easily understand. It covers a wide range of events spanning several decades. Makes one appreciate the dedication of America's military personnel and their families. It was nice to read about several branches of the military and other government agencies working together as a team.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Amazing heroes and a realistic book telling their stories. Highly recommended.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Insight into one of the best military units in the world from one of its own members.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Awesome account of the history of the 160th. Excellently told first hand stories of missions and breakdowns of lessons learned and how past tragedy has been leveraged to forge and continue to improve an elite unit. Must read for any spec ops fans, especially those interested in how the teams get on target.
