About this audiobook

As a half-demon master of the dark arts, Eve Levine isn't what anyone would call "angelic." That's exactly why the Fates chose her for the job. She's their secret weapon against the forces of evil.

However, after five years, Eve is tired of being the designated rebel of the angel corps, expected to break the rules, then being penalized for it. When the leaderless djinn stage an uprising, Eve sees the perfect chance to get herself fired. As she plunges deeper into the demon world, though, she realizes she's in danger of losing a lot more than her job.

Kelley Armstrong

When librarians finally granted Kelley Armstrong an adult card, she made straight for the epic fantasy and horror shelves. She spent the rest of her childhood and teen years happily roaming fantastical and terrible worlds, and vowed that someday she'd write a story combining swords, sorcery, and the ravenous undead. That story began with the New York Times bestselling Sea of Shadows and continues with Empire of Night. Armstrong's first works for teens were the New York Times bestselling Darkest Powers and Darkness Rising trilogies. She lives in rural Ontario with her husband, three children, and far too many pets.

Kelley Armstrong is a progeny when it comes to supernatural writing. Her books leave you breathless with their racy romances, the constant struggles, and the exciting stories. She does all of this effortlessly and you have no choice but to plummet without stumbling straight into her world. She has created such a strong presence in all of her characters that everything about them makes them seem real! You get so caught up in their stories that you feel you are a part of them. I cannot say enough good things about Kelley!

I didn't realize it was the middle of a series before I started.

This is a book about Eve. She is not my favorite character, but not a bad story. It is very short. Read book in less than two hours. It also has illustrations in it.

    Amazon preorder,

This is really just a longish short story, packaged with some nice art. If you follow the Women of the Otherworld stuff it's a nice little follow on about Eve and Kristof, although it might work as a standalone.

Some additional nice character insight and some seriously nice art. A bit pricey for what you get but I enjoyed it.

A novella following renegade angel Eve. She was a witch who dabbled in dark magic in life and in death works on behalf of the Fates. It slots into the Women of the Otherworld series anywhere after Haunted (book five) where Eve first takes centre stage. She doesn't exactly go about her new job in a conventional way (this is pretty much why she is so useful to the Fates) and this time she is out to stop a djinn and a demonic rebellion. Problem is that when she does break the rules, she is always reprimanded and she is sick of it. She has it mind that this will be her last mission for the Fates and then she is done and quitting.Nothing is as simple as it first seems though (isn't that always the way), and soon she is fighting for her life, trying to stop a rebellion and amidst all this there is also the potential that there is a traitor in the angelic ranks. I'm still loving this series. Eve is a great character with a lot of depth and I really hope she makes an appearance in later novels. It will be interesting to see if Savanah (her daughter) gets her own tale at some point as well.

Excellent as always. Wish it to would have been longer but it is still great to spend more time in the mind of Eve.

My Thoughts...I bought this months ago and sadly it's been sat on my shelf neglected until last night where I sucked it up in less than a hour before before bed. Now, I love Kelley Armstrong - I've said it so much that I probably border on the line of obsessed. But Kelley has a such a way of crafting absorbing characters and fantastic urban settings that it's enough to leave you hanging for more once you finish reading your first book.Eve is one of my favourite of Armstrong's characters. She and I didn't start off on good feet, I wasn't overly keen on the idea first of a whole novel dedicated to the ghostly witch but Eve's wit and straightforward, no nonsense attitude was refreshing and quickly won me over in Haunted. In this novella Eve is summoned by the fates to bring in a group of rebel djinn. Eve, at the end of her patience with her role as an angel, is frustrated at being pulled back in yet again for another investigation and soon plots a way to exploit this job to her own purposes, get fired.Final Thoughts...I had to shake the cobwebs before I started reading this and though I was a little stung at the price I soon forgot about it all as I slipped into Eve's world and became engrossed in the story. This is an excellent addition to the Women of The Otherworld series. Be warned, if you are going to purchase a copy (Subterranean is sold out) it is under 100 pages long and the font is on the larger side. But if you're a fan and have an opportunity to read this I highly recommend you do. If not, you're not really missing anything so you don't have to worry too much!
