- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5A charming book about the characters that orbit a cozy neighborhood diner. The aging proprietress, Jessie, employs a big-hearted cook, Louise, who warmly adopts every regular. It's a novel rich in detail and colorful wisdom. A novel about death, life, and how to cope with both.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I would definitely recommend it just based on the excellent narrator. This book is like a cold drink on a hot day. I never get tired of rereading it. Beautiful story and relatable!
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5I love Anne Lamott's nonfiction work. But this novel was not for me. I couldn't connect with a single character.
