- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I thoroughly enjoyed this novel. Good writing throughout. Lots of laugh-out-loud lines. Other emotions are also drawn out. The narrator is excellent.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5The narrator wasn’t that great.. to those who think it sounds preachy, …it’s probably is because you need it ;)
Love his books though…: - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I was confused by the beginning with Clarence and Ollie being so antagonistic toward each other when the previous book had ended with them as friends. But I ended up liking the book. Great ending. Need more Ollie books :)
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Fair warning.
The story seems to be largely bait to get people to sit through a hard sell for the authors religion. If you're just interested in a mystery this one gets more and more diluted with some pretty overt proselytizing as the story goes on - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Such a good book!!! I will get more of his books.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Absolutely amazing story, very fun read full of excitement, humor with great heart warming moments!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Good update to the series he started years ago. Always been an Alcorn fan, both of his fiction and non-fiction.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Definitely the best of the series in terms of Ollie Chandler solving a mystery and grappling with personal issues and the meaning of life. This time he is front and centre. The mystery and the solving of it are core to the story and the God/Heaven/suffering/sin issues are tucked in around it, rather than loaded down with specific themes (racial discrimination, gangs, personal ambition vs God's will, abortion, homosexuality) as in previous books. I'm glad Ollie really gets a go this time. Although he is going through lots of personal struggles, he wants to get the job done. Clarence and Jake are his sounding boards and they have opportunity to reflect Jesus to him. The biggest catch is that the clues are mounting up against him and point to him as the murderer....and he isn't sure of himself.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Very good mystery; occasionally preachy
