About this audiobook

Juliet Lamprey is having the time of her life running her successful bakery, Tart, when Gideon Carter comes back into her life. Returning home to help his grandfather run the family farm, Gideon is back for good. When they meet again, the spark between them is immediate, and it isn't long before the former childhood friends play catch up in bed.

That's not good news for local lawyer Cal Whaley. Though the sexually open but strictly monogamous Cal has loved Jules for a long time, he's hardly ever taken it further than friendship. When he sees her start to fall for Gideon, he knows he has to make his move or risk losing her forever.

Who would have anticipated that all three of them would connect on such an intimate level? The trio's scalding liaisons take them places they've never dreamed. But such an intensely passionate and unusual relationship comes with equally complicated emotions, and when Jules must suddenly leave town, she wonders if she'll have a choice to make when she returns . . .

A unique and enticing situation: in love with two men and starting up a threesome relationship and all that that entails, inside and outside of it. The potential dynamics of family, friends and community are interesting to ponder, but I didn't find the story or characters fleshed out enough to feel any investment in the results or the threesome. Jules' circle of friends (so many names that most felt faceless) is so earnestly loving and supportive that it stretched credulity. Or maybe I've just never enjoyed a circle of friends so impossibly idyllic! More of a 2.5 star rating than the 3 stars I give it.

I loved You Me Her so when a friend suggested this I did right away. But this really wasn't for me. I loved cowboys when I was a kid, but not so much now and this relationship, just didn't make a lot of sense. The childhood friend who waits to late to confess his undying love. Jules family drama.

Juliet hits it off with Gideon, a childhood friend who has returned to town. But one of her best friends, Cal sees his chance at love slipping away. This is another in the Delicious series, which interconnects a lot of Dane's characters. This is another good MMF romance.

I liked it, but as a whole I liked Erin's story better. Jules was a super fan character and her chemistry with both Gideon and Cal was impressively off the charts. The thing that bothered me was how the triad stuff started for them, I thought it to be a little bit forced, but it worked in the end. Loved the ending though!

This is such a great series. I really enjoy Dane's fresh approach to contemporary romance.

This is the story of Jules, Juliet Lamprey. Jules is Gillian's best friend and we met Gillian in the Brown brother series by Dane. The circle of female friends that Gillian had as support while raising her sonas a single parent now have their own series. Dane and Banks call this series the Delicious series. The characters from both series appear in this book and it is meeting up with old friends.

Jules has finally given up waiting for her high school sweetheart Cal to notice her. He is too busy dating both guys and gals to even see her as anything more than his sister's friend. She is moving on. Gideon has returned home from a broken marriage to help his grandfather on the farm. The first day he is back he meets Jules and her search is over. Drop dead gorgeous, the manners of a proper cowboy and a loving grandson what more could she want....that is besides Cal.

Cal and Gideon had been best mates for years in a purely guy kind of way, but now things are changing. Eventually all three hook up to make the perfect matches all around. Jules family sucks and they help her to see that she is being used and to give her strength to finally put her foot down. The book ends with the three all moving into gether in one home with a very hopeful future stretching out before them.

This book also describes the beautiful wedding between Gillian and Adrian Brown. You can't hold the tears back...very touching.

Review courtesy of Dark Faerie TalesQuick & Dirty: Scorching hot romance with emotional highs and lows.Opening Sentence: In case anyone ever doubted it, getting up at four in the morning was all sorts of things. The Review:Juliet Lamprey is dedicated to her job, friends and family. She spends most of her time running her bakery so she doesn’t really think about her love life much at all, when she does she pines for the crush she has had on Cal Whaley since she was a teenager but Cal only wants to be friends. Then one day a business proposition leads her to Gideon Carter. It’s instant attraction for them both and it doesn’t take long before they begin dating.Juliet’s friends also thought that Juliet and Cal would end up together but they see how happy Gideon makes her. Cal eventually learns about their relationship and realizes he has waited too long and may have passed up a good thing. He corners Jules by professing his love with a scorching hot kiss. Juliet knows she has to tell Gideon about what happened. Gideon comes up with a compromise that surprises and shocks Juliet and Cal.Tart is an emotionally driven novel with complicated relationships. Juliet has to work through some high and low points in her life, mostly high points but when the low points happen they just pile on the grief that she goes through, enough so that you want to yell at the people in the novel for what they put her through. Although the group they are friends with are all naturally accepting of their relationship.Lauren Dane has a remarkable writing style that really draws you into the storyline. I wasn’t too sure how I would like a ménage story but it is well written and I rooted for their relationship. The point of view does jump around from each of the three. Tart can be read as a standalone but since Ms. Dane intertwines characters from other series including the Brown Siblings series, it will make you want to read their backstories if you haven’t already.Overall, Tart is a hot, hot book filled with sex, fun and good friendships. If you are a fan of sizzling hot romance then definitely pick up this book. I already can’t wait to read the sequel and see how Mary and Damian’s relationship develops.Notable Scene:Jules shook her head. “It’s easy to sit there and say everything would be fine if they disowned you. But you don’t really know what it feels like. But you don’t really know what it feels like.” Her voice caught. “It sucks. I don’t want that for you. I don’t want that for Gideon either.”Cal hugged her. “I don’t want that. None of us do. But as you point out, it’s bound to happen with some people and we need to either break up or deal with it. I know my preference.”She smiled and Gideon relaxed a little. “Next time you’ll tell us right away.”“Maybe.”Cal snorted. “No maybe. You have to share. How can this work if we don’t share?”She put on a sunny smile. “Seems to me we share just fine.”FTC Advisory: Penguin/Berkley provided me with a copy of Tart. No goody bags, sponsorships, “material connections,” or bribes were exchanged for my review.
