About this audiobook

Half-shifter Shaya Critchley may hold a submissive role in her pack, but she’s done taking orders. After her Alpha wolf mate refused to claim her—but committed to interfering in her life—she took off. Now she hides from him, posing as a human in a town full of anti-shifter extremist groups. She thinks he’ll never find her again, and that suits her just fine. But she’s wrong.

Nick Axton can barely control his feelings for Shaya, but he could never claim her—not if he truly cares for her. The degenerative brain condition he keeps secret would ultimately leave her with a burden rather than a mate. But when Shaya runs away, Nick can’t bear the thought of never seeing her again. After tracking her down, he discovers Shaya’s feisty and passionate side in the process…a side he’d never seen before.

Under the menacing gazes of territorial local packs and violent human extremists, Nick vows to finally claim the spirited Shaya…and despite her initial resistance, Shaya just might find his fiery determination to be the ultimate aphrodisiac.

I liked the story line, but as another reader starred the author leans heavily on rough sex, and after about the 3rd book every scene sounds the same.

Storyline is my favorite so far. Great books, having a very hard time turning it off. I find I am cheering on the characters out loud.

Still giggling at all the bantering between characters, absolutely enjoy the humor mixed in with the drama, looking forward to the next book.

I really enjoy shifter stories and this series has been packed full with action romance and the hot and steamy scenes do not disappoint. The narration is good and not robotic or annoying so it is very much a pleasant listen.

Another great read by Suzanne! This one is a rejected mate plot . But it was also very romantic and cute and spicy as usual. There was just a bit of pining and heartbreak at the beginning… Very topical stuff happening in the background plot as well.

I think this is my favorite book in the series. I like the action, the teasing, I do want to tell them both to grow up at times, but still very nice.

I enjoyed Nick and Shaya's story. Both are damaged wolves and both have to overcome emotional issues. Initially they take turns causing harm to each other but in the end they do have a happily ever after. This book does favor the romantic drama but there is drama of other sorts such as jealousy, wars, decipt, and injustice. Highly recommend this book and the series.

(Nick & Shaya): this book has the feel of a "next week's episode". As mentioned at the end of the previous book, Shaya has left and is now living in a new town. She's trying to adjust to living a life without her mate. Until Nick shows up. He's finally realized that he cannot live without his mate and went looking for her and now he's in for the fight of his life to win her trust and her love. I loved that in this book, Shaya didn't automatically forgive Nick. He had to work for it. Of course there's always trouble with rival packs but this time there are extremist humans involved too. Now Nick, Shaya and the Phoenix Pack have to work together. I love that even though Shaya left them and they didn't really like Nick, they still the pack still has their back when they needed them. The book is funny and very hot. Really loving this series.

Another great book. I love the humor and corks the strong bond the pack has, they aren't just a pack they are family. Great job to the author and the narrator.

This writer works largely to formula and includes lots of explicit sex BUT the characters are sufficiently differentiated with enough fun quirks so they're work gobbling down if you're a fast reader. Fun.

Wright tried something different in this book and it went wrong. Should have stuck with the standard formula because it was working for her.Sassy Bitch #3 is super pissed off and hurt that Brooding, Emotionally Unavailable Alpha #3 refuses to acknowledge her existence, never mind claim her, despite them being true mates. She's also kind of pissed off that he won't let her go get her jollies elsewhere because his Alpha-maleness won't allow his pride to allow that as long as he's in a position to stop it. With the help of the scooby gang, she runs away to live as a human.Brooding, Emotionally Unavailable Alpha #3 desperately wants to claim his mate, Sassy Bitch #3, but due to his special snowflakeness, he has a degenerative brain condition that could turn him into more of a burden than a mate, so in an effort to protect her he chooses to keep his distance. That is until he learns that she's run away from him. He then decides that he actually does want her, gives up everything, buys a caravan and sets out to find her. Six months later he does, and needless to say she isn't happy to see him.Shennanigans ensue. It didn't work. I was bored during this book. I had to force myself to read the last 30%.

Nick and Shia know they are true mates the moment they see each other, but Nick is battling his own demons at the time and does nothing to even suggest to her that he knows she is his.Shia is deeply wounded by Nick's rejection and moves away to start a new life, but Nick will have none of that! She is his!!!
