NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER

Debbie Macomber has won the hearts of millions of readers with her moving and inspiring stories. Now wedding bells are ringing in the tight-knit community that gathers around A Good Yarn, a store in a pretty Seattle neighborhood. Knitters come to the store to buy yarn and patterns but somehow they leave richer in friendship and love.

Lauren Elliott has waited years for her long-term boyfriend, Todd, to propose, yet he seems more focused on his career than their relationship. When Lauren learns that her younger sister is pregnant before she herself even has an engagement ring, she feels overjoyed yet disheartened. Knowing she can't put her future on hold, Lauren prepares to make a bold choice-one that leads her to a man she never dreamed she'd meet.

Newly married to her second husband, Max, Bethanne Scranton is blissfully in love. But with Max's job in California and Bethanne's in Seattle, their long-distance marriage is becoming difficult to maintain. To complicate matters, Bethanne's cunning ex will do anything to win her back.

Lydia Goetz, too, is wonderfully happy with her husband, Brad, though lately she worries about the future of A Good Yarn. As she considers how to bring in business, she discovers that someone has beaten her to the punch. Baskets of yarn are mysteriously popping up all over town, with instructions to knit a scarf for charity and bring it into Lydia's store. Never before has her shop received so much attention, but who hatched this brilliant plan?

As three women's lives intersect in unexpected ways, Lydia, Lauren, and Bethanne realize that love heals every heart, and the best surprises still lay ahead.

This was just okay for me. I didn't love it but I didn't hate it either. This isn't normally the kind of book that I would pick up but I added it to my so be read list several years ago largely because of my mother. When this book was being released, my mother was undergoing chemotherapy during her third battle with breast cancer. I took her to all of her doctor appointments and chemo treatments so we spent a lot of time together and she loves Debbie Macomber's writing. I added this book to my review pile due to my mother's recommendation but I accept full responsibility for letting it linger there for years. I did like the book and am glad that I finally picked it up.This is one of those books that tells several somewhat connected stories. I don't always care for this method of storytelling because I often like one of the plot threads more than the others and the book's momentum seems to slow down with the focus is switched. I had those issues with this book and think that I would have enjoyed the book a lot more if one of the stories would have been the primary focus of the book. Lydia, Lauren, and Bethanne all share a love of knitting and know each other through their hobby. Lydia runs the local yarn store and is dealing with some issues in personal life with her adopted daughter and her mother's health. She is also trying to solve the mystery of the knitting baskets showing up all over town tied to her store. Lauren is ready for a long term relationship and decides to move on from her boyfriend and then quickly meets Rooster and finds that he may be the man she needs in her life. Bethanne and her husband live in different states due to work obligations but are deeply in love. Bethanne's daughter and ex-husband are adding an extra set of challenges but they are determines to make things work.I liked all three of the stories but the book as a whole just felt too sweet. It really shouldn't have been a surprise that the book read like a Hallmark movie since several of her books actually are Hallmark movies. As I worked my way through this book, some of the characters just seemed unrealistically nice and conversations didn't always feel authentic because everyone was just a little too perfect. There were a few characters that were causing problems and being difficult but the overly sweet tone of the book never seemed to subside.I have listened to Cassandra Campbell's narration in the past and have always enjoyed her work. She had a pretty large cast of characters to deal with in this book and I thought she did a great job of it. There were times that I thought that the narration was a little too saccharine but I really think that this was due to the dialogue more than anything else. I wouldn't hesitate to listen to Cassandra Campbell again in the future.I would recommend this book to readers that like a sweet and clean story. I did want to see everything work out for the characters and liked the book overall. I don't think that there is anything ground breaking in this book but it was a nice story. I received a digital review copy of this book from Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine via NetGalley and borrowed a copy of the audiobook from the library via Overdrive.

Lydia and Brad Goetz's adopted daughter, Casey, is having nightmares she doesn't want to talk about, while an anonymous person is leaving baskets of knitting around Seattle with instructions telling knitters to bring the finished scarves to A Good Yarn for donation to charity. Bethanne and Max Scranton are feeling the strain of their long-distance marriage, while Bethanne's ex, Grant, is trying to break them up, and her daughter Anne is angry and resentful that Bethanne is not falling for it. Lauren Elliott breaks up with tv news reporter Todd and is falling for Max's friend and partner Rooster Wayne, while her employers at John Michael Jewelry, Elisa and Garry Lippincott, are coping with the fact that their nineteen-year-old daughter Katie is pregnant and intending to marry her boyfriend.

It's a time of changes and stresses on Blossom Street, and many old friends from previous books make greater or lesser appearances. The story here is all about relationships, and the growing and maturing of relationships and individuals through time and experience. This is a gentle read, not without its emotional challenges, but the reader is secure in the knowledge that the characters we love have solid values and kind hearts. They won't ultimately do the wrong thing.

There is obviously a fair amount of back story, but I think the essential facts are included seamlessly enough that a new reader can start here with enjoyment and without undue frustration.

    Recommended.

I received a free electronic galley of this book from the publisher via NetGalley.

I suppose your enjoyment of the book might depend on just how ridiculous you find the name Rooster for the main love interest. At first it didn't really bother me but as time went on and more people would react the way many probably would ("wait, his name is what? Rooster? Really? No.") the more ridiculous it seemed. As a character he's fine, though he seemed smart enough to not forget to include that one bit of information his new bride found very, very important. Also, and I cannot stress this enough, but sending an "R U pregnant?" text is probably the douchiest move. It vexed me to the point that I had to walk away for a bit.Otherwise, eh. I believe I saw someone else liken this book to a Hallmark movie. You know how it's going to end up, you can probably even guess how you'll get there, but it's an enjoyable ride all the same. I do wish we'd found out just what exactly the bad dreams were but perhaps it's a thing in another book.

We're back on Blossom Street with Debbie Macomber who has written another fun, feel good novel with happy endings. I love the characters this author creates... so real and likeable... well... most of them. Interesting people with real issues living in a town that makes you wish you could be one of its citizens. I read it in one afternoon as I do with most of Debbie's books. You won't be disappointed in this delightful yarn. I received a copy of this book free from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Lydia's Knitting Store plays a major role in Blossom Street Brides. The stories of mystery knitting baskets , Lauren and Rooster, and Bethanne And Max are all intertwined and make for an excellent read. Debbie writes another beautiful love story, and I for one, love her characters.

Blossom St. brides is the latest book of the Blossom St series by Debbie Macomber's. We are introduced more into the life of Lauren Elliot and her life with boyfriend Todd who just will not commit to marrying her after a long relationship. Bethann and her husband, Max and their long distance relationship and Lydia, who owns A Good Yarn and what is going on with her family. As always, I enjoyed this book and recommend it. Looking forward to the next Blossom St book and find out what happens next.

I am a big Debbie Macomber fan having read many of her previous novels. I enjoyed this latest look at Blossom Street and the many characters featured in Blossom Street Brides. Although the story follows the typical romance novel pattern, it is enjoyable to read. It is always bittersweet for me to reach the end of a Debbie Macomber novel - usually a happy ending for the characters in the story, but sad for me to have to wait until the next installment of the series to see what is in store for the characters, who you really come to know and love through the course of reading the novel.

Closely Knit FriendshipsWhile I've watched Debbie Macomber movies on TV, this is the first time I've actually read one of her novels. Blossom Street Brides is a wonderful story about three women who have become friends because of a knitting shop called A Good Yarn. Lydia, Lauren, and Bethanne each have personal issues which challenge their hearts.Lydia owns A Good Yarn. She is raising a stepson and an adopted daughter who is troubled by the trauma of her early childhood. Lydia is also dealing with the failing health of her mother. She wants to increase business at her shop and is suddenly being assisted with that matter by an unknown individual who has been leaving knitting baskets in public places. People are asked to knit part of a scarf and return it to A Good Yarn when they are finished. Who could have started this project? This is quite a mystery and adds to the interest of the story.Lauren wants to be happily married and wishes to start a family. Her current relationship seems to be going nowhere. Will she find the strength to move on, or will she continue to wait for a man who is more interested in himself than in her? Will that man realize he wants to share his life with Lauren before it's too late? Can Lauren find what she is looking for in a man who seems to be totally opposite of her? She begins to knit a baby blanket for her sister and then begins to experience life changing events.Bethanne is happily married to her second husband, Max. However, her first husband won't let her go. He is a controlling man who wants his own way no matter how he gets it, or who he hurts while trying to remain in control. Max and Bethanne are trying to maintain a long-distance marriage, but it is becoming more and more difficult. Will their love for one another overcome the many obstacles in their path? They will need to make some tough decisions to save their marriage.I really enjoyed this book and read it in one day! There were some surprises in the plot and I found I could not wait to find out what would happen to each of the characters. If you enjoy romantic stories with healing themes, you will love this novel!I received this book from the publisher, through Library Thing's Early Reviewers program in exchange for my honest review.

Like a fellow reviewer, I was selected to receive this book as an early reviewer giveaway in January and did not receive the book from the publisher until the end of May. By then, I had already read the book from a local library, and rated it three stars. It was nice to revisit Blossom Street and its beloved characters. I enjoyed Lauren's story of shedding the old tired romance and taking a chance on a very new and different love interest. Their road was rocky but satisfying. I'm glad we got an update on the character Lydia and her family, who are evolving with the aging issues of her mother and her adopted daughter's adolescent struggles. This author's settings around the sweet characters on this street are always a pleasant read.

The book is based on three brides mostly. The lives of Lauren and Bethannie and her relationship. Lydia with her husband but also dealing with her adopted daughter Casey. Lydia worries about her daughter relationship with her grandmother. Lydia also worries about Casey dreams as well. Bethannie has to deal with her ex husband and his things that he does between Bethannie and Max. Lauren has to deal with he long time boyfriend and her new boyfriend. I wonder how it all works out. You would need to read it to find out. When I read this kinda book I feel like I am apart of the families. There are times I want to yell at them as well.

I really enjoyed this book. This story featured 3 women who were connected via the Blossom Street Community.Lauren works for Lydia in her yarn store, A Good Yarn. Bethane is a customer and friend of the two ladies. This is their journey with love and sacrifice. Lauren Elliott is tried of waiting for her new reporter boyfriend Todd to propose and so she just ended things. She is also tired of being such a good girl and so hesitant about everything that she asked a stranger Rooster to dinner. Rooster is different from anyone she has ever dated, after all Rooster is a biker, winery owner. For some reason, they work. But everyone around them had opinions and it became a strain on their new relationship. Bethanne Scranton is a year into her new marriage with her second husband, Max. But the long commute was putting a strain on them. Max owns a winery with Rooster in California, and Bethanne and her children lived in Seattle. Also, Bethanne's ex husband is pulling out all the stops to win her back and it's causing a strain with Max. Lydia & Brad Goetz, are worried about their adopted daughter as she continues to have nightmares. Also, they don't know about the viability of their business a Good Yarn. They can't afford to pay for a professional therapy group for their daughter. How can they help her and help their business? This story was engaging, it had humor, it had sad and happy times. Most of all, it reminded me of my family interactions. The author managed to write such likable characters and I was just rooting for them the entire time. Books like this is why I love "Love". I felt immensely satiated at the end of this book, like I just ate chocolate cheesecake, rich, creamy and divine. Bravo Debbie Macomber. What a treat this book was.

With "Blossom Street Brides", author Debbie Macomber returns readers to the cozy, knitting-shop community of the Seattle, Washington store, "A Good Yarn". Love unexpected, kindness not anticipated, and sacrifice unsuspected will all weave together like the fibers of the yarn used to create sweaters, scarves, afghans and much more. Lauren Elliott can no longer bear to be forever placed on hold in favor of her boyfriend Todd's career ambitions. Breaking off with him leads her to a surprising new relationship with Rooster Wayne, a business-man biker, and a man far different from Todd. Bethanne Scranton, happy in her second marriage to Max, business partner with Rooster in a California winery, is nonetheless feeling the strain of a long-distance relationship. Lydia Goetz, owner of "A Good Yarn", is a happy wife, but worried about bringing new business to the store. A mystery Good Samaritan may have the answer when baskets of unfinished knitting projects turn up around the city with the directive: "Knit Me". The finished scarves, destined for a worthy charity, are to be turned in to "A Good Yarn". A wonderful idea--but who is the mastermind? Proving that brides and babies and heartwarming romances never go out of style, Debbie Macomber works her magic with "Blossom Street Brides".Review Copy Gratis Library Thing

Blossom Street Brides by Debbie Macomber is an inspiring story about three women and the problems in their lives. Lauren Elliott is dismayed when she learns that her younger sister is pregnant. Lauren has been waiting for years for Todd to propose. After deciding to take matters into her own hands, she meets a man named Rooster. Bethanne Scranton is a newlywed but she lives in Seattle and Max lives in California. Neither feels that they can move because of their businesses but the miles between them are beginning to cause problems. Linda Goetz is very happy with her husband Brad but she is deeply troubled about the future of her yarn shop for business has dropped off. The business is given a boost when someone starts leaving baskets all over town with instructions to knit a scarf for charity and to buy their yarn at A Good Yarn.Debbie Macomber did an excellent job with all elements of this story. I felt as if I knew each character personally for they were so well developed. I must say that my favorite character was Rooster. You will have to read the book to learn his real name and why he was called Rooster. I became involved in all the scenes for again Debbie made them so realistic. The story kept me reading when I should have been doing something else because I had to know how each woman would solve her problems. I was not disappointed with any of the solutions.I definitely recommend this book to all who love a good romantic story and enjoy books by Debbie Macomber.Random House via LibraryThing Early Reviewers provided me with a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Hearing that her little sister was having a baby and she was not even married yet, Lauren took her future into her own hands. Breaking up with her long time boyfriend was just the start of it. Helping a friend deal with the aftermath of a teenage daughters revelations and really thinking about what she wanted in a husband was very tiring. Finding a new relationship in an unlikely way, place and person was very surprising. New friends from the yarn shop on Blossom Street helped, while owner Lydia is trying to find out what is troubling her adopted daughter, help care for her aging mother and balance the business with family commitments. Another customer and fellow knitter Bethanne, is having her own marital issues. Her long distance relationship with her new husband is putting stress on her and her daughters relationship with a little help from her ex. As Lydia has learned from her past experiences, there is always a way if you keep trying and that is what they all must do.Book 10 ..... I am such a big DM fan that all the Blossom Street books are automatically on the top of my tbr. This one did not disappoint me either. The continuing story of the characters is so much fun to follow. This one is quite predictable (as a lot of them are), but still so enjoyable. It is the journey through the relationships of Debbie Macomber books that draw me in every time. This book spent a lot of time on Lydia and her mothers relationship to her daughter, I hope there is more to the story in the next book (which I am hopeful there will be). Once again, Debbie Macomber writes a book of friendship and gentle romance that warms the heart. I was lucky enough to be able to read this book from the Early Reviewers program at LibraryThing (even though I didn't get it till long after actual release date).

I received this book for free from LibraryThing in exchange for my honest opinion. The copy I received was an ARC so details such as typos, grammar, and other character details were not edited.Despite the errors, I enjoyed reading this cute story involving several women and their quest for love, family, and belonging. Blossom Street Brides is part of a series but I have not read any of the other books and still understood the plot. The characters were realistic in their actions and conquered some tough issues, but the overall tone remained light-hearted and fun to read.I think I most identified with Lauren because she was "single" and hoping to find the man of her dreams to marry, or at least someone who has several qualities from her husband list. It's am a list maker too, so I laughed as she was making it because it reminds me of my own list. (Unfortunately I have not found someone who fills it yet, so I may have to follow her lead and introduce myself to a random stranger.) :)In any case, this was a good book if you're in to romance and want a carefree read.

At first I thought the book was going to be too sweet of a book. I usually am a classic and mystery reader, but I was pleasently supprised. I have not read any of the other books in the Blossom Street Brides series; however, I did not feel I was at a disadvantage. The book stands on its own. This book tells the story of three women in different stages of marriage. First, Lauren, after breaking up with her long-time boyfriend, marries someone she's only known for several days. Second, Bethanne, is happily married to Max, her second husband, but they live in two different states and commute back and forth which puts a strain on their marriage. Lastly, Lydia is very happy with her husband of many years but faces challenges with her Mom who has dementia and her adopted teenage daughter. The stories of these three women intersect at the yarn shop that Lydia owns. Although I enjoyed this book, I did find it a little too sweet at times. However, I was impressed with the surprisingly complex issues that the book touched on such as dementia, second marriages, adopted children, etc.

I received this book through the Early Reviewers program. It was a pleasant tale which, according to the blurb on the back, follows three women in various stages of marriage. However, upon reading the book, I feel there were really four women. One woman decides to end a dead-end relationship on learning that her younger sister is pregnant. Her rejected suitor then decides he made a mistake by not asking her to marry him and begins pursuing her again, even though she has met a new man and fallen deeply in love. One woman is happily married with two adopted children; she owns a yarn store which is just scraping by, but her husband allows her to keep it open because he knows how important it is to her. Suddenly baskets of yarn begin cropping up all across town with directions to "Knit me" on the project inside and return them to the store. While she thinks this is a very clever marketing ploy, she didn't come up with the idea and is trying to figure out who did. In the meantime, her teen-aged daughter begins having nightmares which affect the whole family.Another woman is happily married but in a long-distance relationship because her husband's business is in California. She also still lives in the home she shared with her ex-husband. The ex has decided he wants her back in his life and begins dropping by the house or her workplace and trying to win her back, much to the husband's dismay. The fourth woman is a young college student who discovers she is pregnant although unwed. Her parents got married under the same circumstances 19 years earlier but are determined that the girl should not marry her baby's husband even though their marriage is solid. All of these women know each other and are friends, so their tales intertwine and they share stories and heartaches. The book comes to a relatively satisfying conclusion, and those behind the yarn baskets are also revealed.I found this book to be a gentle, light read--nothing too taxing, no bad language, just a nice book to while away a summer's evening.

I have never read a Debbie Macomber book in which I didn't feel like I was friends with all the characters by the end of the book. Even through I had my own predictions as the book went along, I was many times delighted with the twists and turns of the plot. Yes, it is a book about romance but it is also a whole lot more.
