Description

When Bree Prescott arrives in the sleepy, lakeside town of Pelion, Maine, she hopes against hope that this is the place where she will finally find the peace she so desperately seeks. On her first day there, her life collides with Archer Hale, an isolated man who holds a secret agony of his own. A man no one else sees.

Archer's Voice is the story of a woman chained to the memory of one horrifying night and the man whose love is the key to her freedom. It is the story of a silent man who lives with an excruciating wound and the woman who helps him find his voice. It is the story of suffering, fate, and the transformative power of love.

I was sent this book from the publisher. My ratings and reviews will be my own personal opinions and are in no way influenced by publishers or authors who may have sent me books to review. “Maybe there was no right or wrong, no black or white, only a thousand shades of gray when it came to pain and what we each held ourselves responsible for.”So many people have told me this was their favorite book. I have heard so many great things about Mia Sheridan and her work, and I knew this is the book I wanted to start with as I have been wanting to read several of her books. This immediately grabbed my attention and I did not want to put it down. If you pick this up, make sure you clear your schedule as you will not want to walk away without knowing what is going to happen.Normally I am not a fan of stories that go between past and present, but Mia Sheridan did it in a way that it just worked. I loved the past scenes from when Archer was a child. They were so emotional, and pulled his story together. I also liked the duel perspective between Bree and Archer and that it took place in present day.I loved that there was a mystery behind what happened to both Archer and Bree. Layers are peeled away as you get to know both characters. You will laugh and you will cry. I loved that Archer still shows a sense of humor beneath all of his pain. This is also pretty steamy, which is really not my thing. I wish there were a few less sexy scenes, but it did not take away from my enjoyment of the story.Overall, I loved this. I want to read everything Mia Sheridan puts out and has put out. If everything else is a as good as this, she quickly will become a new to me favorite author.

Archer's Voice by Mia Sheridan (Audiobook)Narrated by: Kris Koscheski & Emily Durante5 Stars - This book was recommended to me by a friend and I am glad I read it. I loved the premise of a nonverbal person finding his perfect match. I was looking forward to lots of body language and possibly a different take on getting to know each other as this was the first book I have ever read with a lead character who doesn't speak. It didn't disappoint. From the first meeting you can feel a spark of chemistry between Archer and Bree and it just grew from there. Their courtship was fun, heartfelt and passionate. I enjoyed watching them fall in love. After about halfway in, I did feel that they were a lot like randy rabbits…(having sex all the time) however it wasn't drawn out and detailed each time, which was good as it didn't detract too much from the story. The writing and narration both were done well and overall I really enjoyed it. ~ Paragraphs and Petticoats ~

***$.99 ebook Nov. 1-14 with exclusive bonus scene from Archer's point of view. This is a steal at .99! Jump on it if you were waiting to buy :)***

    3.5 stars
On my Fire, so this is going to be short and sweet. I definitely see why people love this book, it's highly emotional, romantic, and sob/angst. But also all in a New Adult way, if that makes sense. There was a lot of drama o' rama and "omg, he is so hot" but the sometimes over the top pulling on the heartstrings was the star of the show. The devotion between our couple is for sure worthy of being swooned over but I felt a little old and cynical for it at times (completely a me problem).

I'm not a big New Adult fan but if you are, I definitely think you would love this story but you don't need me to tell you that, the evidence is in all thev5 star reviews. This is in the top New Adult I've ever read and I liked it but this subgenre and me are only so compatible.

This book is one of the most beautiful book I have ever read.

The concept was one of a kind and I fell in LOVE with Archer!!

Bree leaves her hometown to escape her past and when she ends up in a small town things start looking up. She makes friends with her neighbor, gets a job at a local diner, and comes face to face with the town's mystery... Archer Hale.

He instantly grabs her attention when he just stares at her, but never speaks. She tries to befriend him and at first... he pushes her away. When she learns he can't speak she tries another method and this time it works. Slowly they reveal their best kept secrets and embark on a romance like no other!

I was addicted from page one and the more I read, the more Archer consumed my heart. I absolutely loved how broken, yet strong he was. The way him and Bree connected was so beautiful. She was kind and sweet. He was loving and protective. Together they were a whirlwind of emotions.

I highly recommend this book to all readers!!

I thought I wouldn't like this book. I have seen a lot of hype about it and usually that is a guarantee that I won't like it.

    I was wrong.

It is a fantastic book! a fantastic read! A beautiful, believable, romantic story. I am gushing but I just finished it and I am on a book high. That point in time where I want everyone I know to read it just so I can say, 'I know it was good right?!'

So read it and then message me so I can say it!

This was a good book. I liked the story, liked the characters, enjoyed the setting. But, in spite of all that, I was never completely vested in this book. It just kind of fell flat. I am in the very small percentage of readers who didn't give it 5 stars.

    4.5 STARS

Mia Sheridan, remember this day. You're officially on my love-to-hate list.
I really freakin liked Archer's Voice. I was prepared to give it 3 stars because before that scene that gave me a little massive heart attack, I thought the story was pretty plain. I mean, sure, it was beautiful how both Archer and Bree learned to get over their past through each other but I didn't really find something that took the storyline to the next level.
    BUT
After reading the end of chapter 33 and the start of chapter 35, I really thought that...Anyway, I was really sobbing at that part (and maybe stomping my feet, too) then I calmed down long enough to continue reading because there were only a few pages left. Naturally, because of the author's wording, I thought that that was it. It's the end. Sigh. Good thing I read through it and...laughed at myself. Talk about overreaction.
So, that heart attack(and btw, I think this book should come with a health warning, or something because of it) was the 'next level' I was looking for, I think. The story wasn't perfect so I didn't give it a 5 but...almost.
I'm so excited for this to become a movie.

I was in the mood for an emotional read but not one that would double me over in pain. This story hit the spot! :)

I absolutely loved the story of Archer & Bree. This one will be a part of my permanent collection of favorite books that I will keep forever and read again.

Wow, I wasn't expecting almost any of that. Archer couldn't speak but was still a alpha, possessive hottite! Who knew sign language could be so hot! Yummy! At around 90 percent I thought I was gonna have to hurt someone but then turns out I didn't, lol. I loved it, awesome story and characters! I don't know why I hesitated to read it. Mmmm, wonderful!

Great writing, lovely story, amazing narrators. I won't forget this novel in a long while.

I think this book has an interesting plot and story line especially at the start, but the reading wasn't fitting or realistic in the slightest and somewhat cheesy towards the end.

This was very emotional. There were a couple of times that I would be annoyed by Bree's actions. And, at times, it'd feel like nothing was really happening. But the story was unique, and so was Archer, and I'm glad I've read it.

I enjoyed this book. The first thing that stood out to me was the unique plot. With just the opening scene, I was already hooked. I think opening the story with that very first scene with Archer was a really good choice. It immediately made me sympathize for him, and I also think it strengthened the draw towards him.

The characters were also another reason I enjoyed reading this book. I don't know specifically what it was about them, but they made me want to know more about their story. From Travis to Connor to Alyssa—I could go on. I also liked reading this book through Bree's point-of-view. It's rare for me to read a story written from a female's perspective because I always find something that would annoy me in some way. In this case, I found no such reason. I really appreciated that. Don't even get me started on Archer. He's such a sweetie.

And woah there. The smut scenes in this were really hot, and they were written in a way that didn't feel unnatural for Archer and Bree. The one thing that threw me off was Archer's abrupt leave. I don't exactly know what bothered me about it, but it stuck with me for the rest of the story.

One last thing I'd like to add: Someone else mentioned this in their review and I'd have to agree. I wouldn't have picked this up on my own if it weren't for the strong recommendation from a friend. The cover really doesn't do the book any justice. It makes the book seem like any other erotica/romance novel, and it's so much more than that.
