About this audiobook

It's been ten years since clean-cut, sexy-as-hell police officer Todd Keenan had a white-hot fling with Erin Brown, the provocative, wild rocker chick next door. Their power exchange in the bedroom got under his skin. But love wasn't in the cards just yet . . .

Now, life has thrown the pair back together. But picking up where they left off is tough, in light of a painful event from Erin's past. As Todd struggles to earn her trust, their relationship takes an unexpected and exciting turn when Todd's best friend, Ben, ends up in their bed-and all three are quite satisfied in this relationship without a name. As the passion they share transforms Erin, will it be enough to help her face the evil she thought she had left behind?

Really enjoyed this book. I had read later books in the Brown Family series, and like those books this tells some real stories about real people (some, albeit, real rock stars.) Like the other books in the series this addresses issues of domestic abuse and PTSD in a responsible way. But that said we don't want things to be too realistic, this is romance. When I want warts and all relationship drama I read litfic. I go to romance when I want sexy hotness, when I want my HEA, and this delivers all of those things. I liked the central thruple, loved the side characters, and grooved on the music (I played a lot of PJ Harvey while I read this.) There are some clunky moments, and I really wanted the sexual relationship between Todd and Ben to develop further, but this is recommended!

This story was pretty good, but didn't blow me away. The beginning had me, I was hooked, but then... I don't know, it just seemed to drag out too long for me. The scenes where Erin recounts losing her child were gut wrenching, but the rest of it was just okay.

A long time ago, Erin and Todd had a short, hot romance. In the 10 years since a lot has happened, but the romance rekindles between them. And then there's Ben. A really well done MMF romance.

A short little excursion into “ménage-trois” erotica. It was an alright book for what it was. A little sherbet to clear the pallet before continuing on to my December pile.

A good erotic romance with a surprisingly heavy plot and the relationship took an interesting turn. I liked how the characters grew throughout the story and the sex was really hot. Erin and Todd meet again after ten years both changed people and Todd tries to convince Erin to give him another chance.

Very well written erotic romance. The characters were three dimensional, Dane dealt with the emotional issues of the characters and you really liked them, despite all their faults. My favorite lines from the book....

Mother is giving son a hard time about not being married yet...

"Are you gay? Because if you are, that's okay. We love you just the same."

"No, I'm not gay. I do like men, but I like women too. More than I like men, but anyway, this is not a conversation I really want to have with you."

"So you're bisexual? Then you have lots more options!"

VERY HOT. HOT. HOT. But I think the author got a little lost with the story and ended up ending things a little too soon. I would've liked to see some more reactions from Ben's family about his relationship and I think things moved a little too out of the realm of reality. Not that I have any experience on the subject, but I would think Ben and Todd would have a little more difficulty with the new level in their relationship. Good book though. Will be reading the second one.

(This review applies to books 1, 2, and 3 in this series)This Brown Siblings series is a little more risque than Dane’s Chase Brothers series. While the Chase Brothers books are mostly conventional romance with some explicit sex, these books are closer to erotica. Lots of sex, with forays into S&M, and in the first one, a MMF relationship. But, hiding behind all the sex is a decent story, where the characters have deeper issues to deal with than who’s going to be on top this time. I think Dane is my new go-to author if I’m looking for this type of book.

Re-read 8/2010 after reading Inside Out.

I put off reading this book when it was released because I thought it was a paranormal. I don't know why I thought that, but I did. I'm really sorry for it, too, because the book turned out to be awesome.

Although Todd showed growth and maturity in this novel, it was Erin who really stole the show. She suffered an unspeakable horror and really had to fight to come back from it. She was broken inside. I really liked that Dane didn't try to force her into being "fixed". As the novel progresses Erin shows major growth, but she isn't completely healed. Because I don't think you can ever completely heal from something like what Erin suffered. Her recovery was slow, and even by the end of the novel it wasn't fully complete. I found her struggle to be totally realistic and one of the better parts of the novel.

I also like that Dane fully explored the relationship between the three. Often a triad is portrayed in a superficial way, but she really dug into the darker aspects of it here. I really felt for Ben as he struggled to find his place with Todd and Erin, especially since he and Todd had the most to lose with his friends and family. As a rock star - or former rock star - Erin didn't really have to worry about what other people though of her, especially since her brothers - her only remaining family - accepted her unconventional relationship. But as the owners of a fledgling security firm with conservative parents, Todd and Ben had a lot to lose.

This is my favorite Lauren Dane book and I love many of hers. She has an amazing skill with writing and portraying emotion, almost movie like in visualization. The story of Todd, Ben, and Erin is beautiful and touching. The title is appropriate, as it will lay you bare emotionally.

Remember that this book has explicit sex scenes, so if that bothers you then this is not the book for you. But this book is well worth the read.

The first half was a hot D/s story, but halvway through it changes into a menage story(with very little BDSM). And not a good menage. The book just fell apart.

I didn't much care for this book. Couldn't really get into it. I read tart first and it goes along the same lines. It didn't catch my attention much. The erotica was good but the story line fell in and out of focus. I bought the next three in this series, I hope they aren't all this way.

I read the third book in this series first, because it's the one my library had available, and even though I wasn't 100% crazy about that one, I was interested enough in the characters I knew this novel was about to want to read it, even though I obviously knew how it was going to end up. I'm not sorry I read it--it was enjoyable--but many of the things the characters said and did just didn't set well with me; at times they seemed forced, and at others they just seemed off. I've heard good things about book two, though, so I'm planning on reading it still--ever the eternal optimist. :-)

Super-sexy book with a strong emotional core, the hot scenes are always unique and add to the story. The heroes are dreamy and the heroine is strong and independent. A wonderful erotic romance.

Love it. Hot, Sweet, Sexy. The growth of each of the main characters was beautifully written. I truly love the family ties and the mixed acceptance of an alternate life style. I only wish that the reality of life allowed for the acceptance shown here. Can't wait to read the next one.
