Such a different story from King's other works. I really enjoyed it. I would have liked to hear of other adventures with the same characters.

Not the King I’ve come to expect, it I found it refreshing and new. Another level of the tower

Stephen King stretches his fairytale-telling muscle in this one. It was a nice change of his style but wasn’t the great origin story of Flagg I expected. It doesn’t feel connected to the Dark Tower series at all. The world is simple and comfortable and the characters are simple and likeable.
I would recommend the book as it’s a quick read that takes you to a new place in King’s writing.

Overall a good read. Steven King plants seeds necessary for the plot in moments of solid character development. My only qualm is this does feel quite a bit like a “tale” and is fixed firmly in the genre. There are some strange tonal moments where this otherwise very targeted for children book has adult content as well. It does seem too bogged down by plot (mainly anticipatory rather than actual) at times when I would like a bit of a tangent. That being said it was an enjoyable listen which is all I really wanted anyway. Worth reading for an entertaining distraction but by no means a literary contribution.

I really enjoyed this bookbook. It wasn't the type of story that I would typical expect from Stephen king but I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed the story and narration in the audio book.

Good book just feel like ending was rushed. I know king hates endings.

The Eyes of the Dragon was written like a fairytale, however, without spoiling anything, I can honestly say the characters did not live happily ever after!
The ending left open the possibility of more adventure to follow. Truly enjoyed this short novel, so different from anything else I’ve ever read by Stephen King. This medieval fantasy would appeal to a YA audience.

Nice to listen to a fairy tale, for a change. The reader did a wonderful job and I appreciated the lack of "curse words".

I loved this book from the very first second until the very last second. The only complaint I have is that it wasn’t longer, I love the characters and their story so much.

A fun story. The relationship between the brothers is very interesting. The villain is also interesting as it is never actually defined what kind of creature he is.
King is a great story teller. I wanted to know the whole time how the mess was going to be solved.

I’ve actually read this book multiple times. It’s a favorite! True it’s a departure from typical Stephen King, but’s it’s a good one. If you’re looking to be scared in a typical King fashion, this won’t do it but it will keep you in suspense and chill the bones a bit. It seems to be written in a mix of 2nd and 3rd person Points of view . This really gives you insight into the characters while allowing you to still witness events that happen within the story and draw your own conclusions about the characters. It’s considered Fantasy appropriately but it’s not overly so. If you LOVE Fantasy you’ll enjoy the book. If you don’t liKE Fantasy, I think you’ll still enjoy the book.

Adventure and excitement, knights and castles, kings and wizards. Originally published in 1984, two years before his terror opus It, Eyes Of The Dragon was met with derision by some of King's fans at the time, as the fantasy novel was a departure from his usual style of horror. But be not deterred, constant reader; the genre may be different, but the craft of the storytelling is just as strong as ever. Additionally for fans of The Dark Tower series, there are numerous connections to be found here, the least of which being the names of Roland and Flagg. As for the audiobook narration, actor Bronson Pinchot (Perfect Strangers, The Langoliers) provides a mostly great reading of the material; his characterization of the dark wizard Flagg is a bit too on-the-nose and obvious for my taste.

If you're a fan of Stephen King, you might like this book. If you're a fan of Stephen King solely for his ability to weave dreadful horrifying tales, you might like this book as it does have some horror elements, but far fewer. If you are a fan of his Dark Tower series, you might love this book. I love this book and even though he strayed from his gothic horror roots, you will find a richly intricate and engrossing fantasy tale of the battle between Light and Darkness and of enduring patience and determination in the face of cruelty, ignorance, shame, and a terribly bleak outlook. You'll find elements from his others books hidden like buried treasure, from such as The Stand and Shawkshank Redemption. Stephen King is an adept world builder with his ability to create profound backdrops and histories for characters and villains. The narrator is elusive yet charming, the best I've ever heard. I hope you love this book as I have.

I love Stephen King. And I did enjoy this book. But this is the first of many King reviews that didn’t get all five stars. It was more of a simple fairy tale than King’s typical horror or supernatural. Which is fine, but just not what I look for in his writings. The orator of the audio version did a very good job!

I think this appealed to me because I'm always looking to connect characters and places in King's multiverse.
